Fighting Childhood Starvation: The Inspiring Story of Fight Against Childhood Starvation (FACS)
In 2018, Arteja Stamps, a compassionate and visionary Chicago native who had moved to Arkansas, founded Fight Against Childhood Starvation (FACS). FACS is a beacon of hope in the fight against food insecurity, providing essential support to families grappling with the challenges of food scarcity.
At the core of FACS are four innovative projects designed to address the various aspects of food insecurity. These projects offer immediate assistance to those in need and also work towards creating sustainable solutions for at-risk families. The team, led by Arteja, pours their energy and commitment into these initiatives year-round, ensuring that no gap is left unfilled and no need is left unmet.
In 2019, Arteja launched the Miss Arkansas FACS Scholarship Pageant, a platform for fundraising and community engagement. The pageant is more than just a showcase of talent and grace; it embodies the spirit of Arkansas, generating vital funds, and collecting toys to bring joy to children during the Christmas season.
FACS, under Arteja's leadership, exemplifies the power of community, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the noble cause of eradicating childhood starvation. It's a testament to what can be achieved when one person's vision ignites a collective effort to make a difference.
